ADVENTURE, TRAVEL & VACATION – Tory Sport Collection: Spring/Summer 2022

Tory Sport Collection: Spring/Summer 2022

The new year has begun and with it the new sporting resolutions for 2022.

But thanks to the new pieces from the Tory Sport SS22 collection, it’s suddenly easy to achieve our new goals!

Exciting patterns, great cuts and comfortable wear make sure that we don’t want to take off our new sportswear.

In 2022, Tory Sport is all about innovation. Taking a cue from classic American sportswear, new patterns have been created and exciting colours chosen, inspired by multi-disciplinary artist Sonia Delaunay.

There is also a sense of adventure, travel and holiday: rain jackets, all-weather jackets, oversized reversible down waistcoats and canvas coats with bungee drawstrings are reminiscent of camping gear.

Furthermore, the variance of styles is enormous, which is why there is a suitable look for every type of sport.

“For Spring/Summer 2022, we focused on innovation: weaving unexpected details and combinations throughout. Continuing with the lens of classic American sportswear — in its simplicity, utilitarian silhouettes and versatility — we injected vibrant hues and novelty prints in contrasting colors. Jacquard anoraks in our iconic T Monogram ground the collection while shades of citrus orange and pastel peach take it to a tropical destination. There is a sense of adventure, travel and vacation: rain slickers, all-weather jackets, oversized reversible down vests and canvas coats with bungee drawcords that reference camping equipment. Modern proportions are infused with performance technology. Embroidered techniques — patches on sweatshirts, bucket hats and label details — add elements of surprise. A classic chain-link print updates our signature golf silhouettes, while marble- and optic paisley-patterned leggings round out the print mix. The collection is finished with strong colors and geometric shapes, inspired by the work of pioneering multi-disciplinary artist Sonia Delaunay.” — Tory Burch

Color Palette – The color palette is inspired by Seventies-era California and the work of Sonia Delaunay. Shades of green — conifer, evergreen and light olive — mix with dynamic blues — glacier ice, Tory Navy and deep marine. Our favorite neutrals — ivory pearl, sesame and natural heather — come alive against punchy citrus colors — lemon glow, pink grapefruit and blood orange.

Engineered Prints – Nostalgia and our core Seventies influence feature prominently in this season’s prints. A cream-colored plaid recalls heirloom handkerchiefs; retro florals, the tropics and a wavy marble appear on legging sets and outerwear. A landscape graphic inspired by vintage postcards is an ongoing theme, and an irreverent chain link gives an eccentric update to our signature golf silhouettes.

Fabrics & Techniques – This season focuses on performance and luxury. Tory Burch introduces a Shetland wool with a multicolor heather, a fluffier high-pile fleece and a heavier merino French terry. The T Monogram Anorak is engineered in a jacquard weave that features a unique reverse pattern on the inside, and a studied dying effect updates a seamless set with a playful marble pattern. We also revisit the stretch Poplin Shirt from our first collection, now crafted in a lightweight Italian cotton.

Silhouettes – Oversized silhouettes are an ongoing theme, filtering through menswear-inspired utility jackets and boxy down vests. A wider leg adds to the comfort of our track pant and a mock neck elevates a classic crew. Our interest in layering introduces a cropped tank top and a shortened sweater.
