With the unveiling of the Atlas Adventurer, Portuguese design studio Oitoemponto introduces a new vision of maritime elegance – one where exploration, craftsmanship and emotional design merge somewhere between a private yacht, a five-star residence and a cinematic dream.

Expected to launch in 2028 for Atlas Ocean Voyages, the next-generation expedition sailing yacht immediately positions itself as one of the most anticipated luxury travel projects of the decade. But beyond the technical innovation and ultra-exclusive itineraries, it is the interiors imagined by Oitoemponto that are already captivating the design world.

Founded by Artur Miranda and Jacques Bec, the Lisbon- and Porto-based studio has become internationally renowned for its ability to create spaces that feel deeply sensual and effortlessly sophisticated. Inspired by the golden age of 1930s transatlantic liners, the interiors reinterpret classic maritime glamour through a distinctly contemporary lens. Glossy mahogany, polished marble and hand-patinated metals interact with shifting ocean light to create spaces that feel cinematic yet intimate. Everywhere, the sea remains present – not as a backdrop, but as the emotional center of the experience.

The atmosphere is warm, tactile and quietly spectacular. Art Deco references appear subtly through sculptural custom furniture and elegant proportions, never feeling nostalgic or theatrical. Instead, the ship evokes the kind of timeless sophistication usually reserved for legendary European residences or discreet ultra-luxury hotels.

A Floating Private Residence for the New Era of Exploration

Unlike traditional cruise concepts, the Atlas Adventurer has been conceived entirely around suites, each designed as a private sanctuary suspended between sky and sea. The most exclusive category, the Reserve Collection, includes breathtaking Owner’s Suites reaching up to 128 square meters, alongside expansive penthouses imagined as true residences on water.

Yet what makes the project particularly compelling is the way luxury and sustainability coexist seamlessly throughout the vessel. The yacht integrates advanced hybrid propulsion systems, carbon fiber rigging and low-emission technologies allowing quieter, more environmentally conscious navigation through some of the world’s most remote destinations.

This harmony between innovation and atmosphere feels essential to Oitoemponto’s vision. Nothing appears cold or overtly futuristic. Technology disappears behind texture, light and emotion.
