Design Miami 2025: A Year Illuminated by Craft, Culture and Bold New Territory
As Design Miami enters its twentieth year, it does so not with sentimentality, but with precision, poise, and the kind of quiet boldness that defines true cultural institutions. This is not a retrospective; it is a statement. A curated journey through design’s evolving identity, unfurling across Aspen, Seoul, Paris, and Miami Beach.
In 2025, the world’s leading forum for collectible design expands both in geography and intention. Its mission remains crystal clear: to elevate design as an art form, and to place human craftsmanship — the gesture, the material, the thought — at the very heart of modern culture.
Aspen – A Day of Design
July 31, 2025
The year begins in Aspen, beneath Colorado’s vast summer skies. In an exclusive collaboration with Range Rover, Design Miami presents a one-day gathering in parallel with the Aspen Art Museum’s ArtCrush — intimate, thoughtful, and quietly powerful. It is a subtle overture: a new way of seeing, thinking, and engaging with design.
Seoul – Illuminated: A Spotlight on Korean Design
September 1–14, 2025
Then, Seoul. In partnership with the Seoul Design Foundation, Design Miami presents a fourteen-day exhibition inside Zaha Hadid’s iconic Dongdaemun Design Plaza. Titled Illuminated, and curated by Hyeyoung Cho, the showcase is an homage to the intricate poetry of Korean design — from its deep-rooted traditions to its compelling contemporary expressions.
The exhibition is a reflection on form and light, on cultural transmission and modern elegance. More than a debut in South Korea, it is a redefinition of what it means to design in dialogue with the world.

Returning to the Hôtel de Maisons, the Paris edition promises its most ambitious iteration to date. Historic and contemporary works will be displayed in deliberate tension — or harmony — with the 18th-century hôtel particulier. The dialogue between space and object becomes the exhibition itself.
Expect rare pieces, significant statements, and the kind of studied provocation that only Paris can offer. This is design not as decor, but as discourse.

Miami Beach – Design Miami

Finally, the flagship returns to Miami Beach for its 21st edition under the curatorial vision of Glenn Adamson. The theme — Make. Believe. — serves as both invitation and provocation. What does it mean to create? To imagine? To design with conviction?
This year also introduces a new design prize by Perrier-Jouët, an elegant convergence of heritage and experimentation, to be previewed ahead of the fair.
Design Miami’s 2025 season is not merely a celebration. It is a reframing – of place, of purpose, and of potential. With its expanded presence and refined ambition, the platform reinforces one essential idea: that great design does not follow trends, it defines time.
In a world that moves fast and often without intention, Design Miami reminds us to pause – and to observe, with clarity and care, what it truly means to make.
