In Milan, during the visual crescendo of Salone del Mobile, Miu Miu chooses a different language.

From April 22 to 24, 2026, the house returns with the fourth edition of its Literary Club, this year titled Politics of Desire – a theme that feels as precise as it is provocative.

Less about spectacle, more about substance.

Desire, Written and Reclaimed

For this new chapter, Miu Miu turns to two voices that have shaped the way intimacy and autonomy are understood.

Annie Ernaux, whose writing dissects memory, sexuality, and power with disarming clarity.
Ama Ata Aidoo, whose work explores love, independence, and the shifting roles of women across cultures.

Their texts – A Girl’s Story and Changes: A Love Story – become the starting point of a wider conversation. One that addresses sexuality, consent, and desire not as abstract concepts, but as structures embedded in everyday life.

Over two days, conversations, lectures, and performances bring together a community of women across disciplines. Writers, thinkers, performers – each contributing to a dialogue that feels both intimate and collective.

This is not a literary homage.

It is a cultural intervention.

A Room of One’s Own, Opened

Set within the Circolo Filologico Milanese, the Literary Club unfolds in a space defined by its intellectual heritage.

On April 24, the format shifts. The club becomes a reading room, open to the public – a gesture that dissolves the boundary between guest and participant.

Visitors leave with more than impressions.

Each is gifted a copy of the two featured books – an extension of the experience, designed to continue long after the event ends.
