Christie’s Presents the Paris of Mathilde Favier – Personal, Poetic, Iconic
Mathilde & Friends in Paris: Christie’s Opens the Doors to an Intimate Parisian Universe
Paris belongs to those who know how to reveal its soul. Among them, Mathilde Favier shines with a singular light – a woman whose charm, humor, and unmistakable sense of elegance have made her one of the city’s most beloved figures. This winter, Christie’s pays homage to her world with Mathilde & Friends in Paris, an exhibition and online sale that captures the essence of her Parisian life.
Running from January 26 to February 4, 2026, with a public exhibition from January 28 to February 4, the event opens a rare window into Mathilde’s constellation of friendships, memories, and aesthetic passions. What emerges is not simply a sale – but the portrait of a Parisienne in all her nuance.

A Love Letter to Paris, Told Through Objects
Mathilde Favier has long embodied the spirit of Paris: refined yet playful, grounded yet effortlessly chic. As the head of public relations for one of the world’s most prestigious maisons, she has spent her life surrounded by creators, thinkers, artists, and designers. Her recent book, Mathilde à Paris, a poetic flânerie through the city and its characters, became an instant success.
Christie’s now extends that universe into a physical space.
Mathilde & Friends in Paris gathers fashion treasures, artworks, design pieces, personal talismans, and objects offered by the friends and collaborators who shape her world. Each item is infused with a story – moments lived, friendships cherished, inspirations shared. It is a sale animated by emotion rather than accumulation.

The Art of Living, Seen Through Her Eyes
The collection is a conversation between Mathilde and the creators she admires. Among the highlights:
-
The floral chintz sofa gracing the cover of Mathilde à Paris
-
A pair of Yoruba-style beaded armchairs
-
An ethereal Julie de Libran gown
-
Sculptural jewelry by Claude Lalanne, JAR, and Boucheron
-
Iconic ensembles by Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Dior
-
Ceramic, glass, and decorative works by artists who shaped her taste
-
Tableware with historic Parisian flair
Each piece reflects the charm of a life lived through beauty, encounters, and serendipity – a celebration of Paris as seen through Mathilde’s gaze.
“A Sale of the Soul”
For Mathilde, the project is deeply personal.
She describes it as an opportunity to share the energy and joy sparked by her book, and to bring together friends and chosen family around a collective vision of beauty. The result feels intimate, generous, and utterly Parisian – less an auction than “a sale of the soul.”
To bring this vision to life, Christie’s entrusted the scenography to the artist and watercolorist Tatiana de Nicolay, whose delicate work lends the exhibition a dreamlike dimension. The space becomes a living tableau – tender, whimsical, and unmistakably Mathilde.
A New Chapter in Christie’s Cultural Narrative
With this sale, Christie’s continues its tradition of honoring singular personalities who shaped the worlds of fashion and culture. Following the celebrated sales dedicated to Catherine Deneuve, Zizi Jeanmaire, André Leon Talley, Iris Apfel, and Vivienne Westwood, Mathilde & Friends in Paris adds a new, luminous chapter.
It is a tribute to friendship, taste, and the art of living beautifully – values that Mathilde embodies with effortless authenticity.

A Celebration of Friendship, Beauty, and Paris
At its heart, this sale is an ode to joyful elegance.
It celebrates the objects that accompany a life, the creators who enrich it, and the emotions that give it meaning. Through this moment at Christie’s, Mathilde Favier invites us into her intimate Paris – warm, curious, sophisticated, and irresistibly alive.
A world where beauty is not an accessory, but a way of being.
