Important Diamonds and Precious Stones
One of the standout lots in the upcoming sale is a Burmese ruby and diamond ring, featuring a 17.97-carat ruby. Rubies over five carats are extremely rare, and those surpassing 10 carats—and nearing 20 carats—are true natural wonders. This gem exhibits exceptional clarity for its size, with vibrant, unheated colour and a richly saturated hue. Another marquee piece is a 3.24-carat fancy vivid blue diamond ring, internally flawless with a remarkable fancy vivid blue color, and classified as a rare Type IIb diamond. Additional highlights include a 40.54-carat fancy intense yellow diamond ring with VS1 clarity, and a Cartier emerald and diamond ring, showcasing a 14.65-carat Colombian emerald set in a vintage Cartier mount from the 1920s. Also featured is a 3.88-carat fancy dark grey-blue diamond ring with exceptional polish. Following the record-breaking success of the Geneva Jewels Auction in May 2024, where ‘The Argyle Phoenix,’ a rare fancy red diamond ring, sold for CHF 3,811,000 and set a new record price-per-carat for a fancy red diamond at auction (achieving USD 2.7 million per carat), Phillips is proud to present ‘The Red Miracle.’ This 1.21-carat fancy red diamond, coming to auction this November from an important private collection, represents an extraordinary opportunity as red diamonds over one carat are exceptionally rare.
