Paris, Restaurants & Bars

We Adore East Mamma in Paris !

When we were walking to the East Mamma, close to Bastille in Paris, I actually couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the amount of people in front of the restaurant asking for a table.

It was a lovely day in Paris with sunshine and the city was vibrating… the perfect day to review the East Mamma !

The friendly staff welcomed us and seated us in 2 minutes, even they had a full restaurant and minimum 30 people outside to manage. The waiting list seamed endless. Tables are hard to come by, so it’s best to arrive early.

When I stepped inside the restaurant I felt the good vibes all around : giant parmigiano cheeses on the wall, an authentic coffee machine in the middle of the corridor, fresh pasta made from scratch… raw, fresh products everywhere, big olive oil barrels, an open kitchen with Italian men having fun cooking and talking. Welcome to little Italy in Paris !

We had a lovely table outside where we caught the last sunbeams and sipped an Aperol Spritz as an Aperitivo.

La vie est belle !

Our waiter Enrico, who was our super friendly host over the night, was serving us some delicious starters : morzarella di bufola (that melted as soon as you made the first cut with the knife and you could see the milk floating on the plate), Italian jambon, smoked morzarella, delicious olives and parmesan. All of it is served on beautiful typical plates and it was really tasty.

As main courses we had pizza ‘White Regina’ and pasta ‘Truffes’… We were delighted with our choices.

The Pizza was very generous, light and airy and the creamy pasta with truffles served in a copper pot was just divine !

The wine list is also quite a hidden treasure…

“So our idea was to open a ‘casual-dining’ sort of restaurant inspired by the trattorias of Italy that offered good food made with really great Italian produce, which we import ourselves, at reasonable prices” says Tigrane Seydoux, co-owner with business partner Victor Lugger.

The Italian specialties on the menu are coming in directly from Naples two of three times a week. We really loved the fresh food made with high quality ingredients.

This place is just marvellous and we will come back very soon !
