PAMELA ANDERSON X RIMOWA: TRAVELLING LIGHT, AT LEAST IN THEORY

Pamela Anderson steps out in New York with RIMOWA’s Essential Cabin and Check-In L in Gloss White — proving that even airport-adjacent style can have a leading lady moment.

There is something particularly satisfying about an all-white travel look. Completely impractical? Perhaps. Chic enough to make us reconsider every black suitcase we have ever owned? Absolutely.

Ahead of the Venice Film Festival, Pamela Anderson was spotted leaving her New York hotel accompanied by two RIMOWA suitcases in Gloss White: the compact Essential Cabin and its considerably more capacious companion, the Essential Check-In L.

And somehow, the luggage became part of the look.

THE ART OF ARRIVING

Dressed almost entirely in soft neutrals — oversized trench, wide trousers, headscarf and white sunglasses — Anderson turned the usually unremarkable business of leaving a hotel into something resembling a scene from an old travel film.

The monochromatic RIMOWA cases worked particularly well against the look. Clean, graphic and immediately recognisable thanks to the German house’s signature grooved shell, they felt less like luggage and more like accessories.

There is also something rather appealing about seeing Anderson with two substantial suitcases while apparently heading to a film festival. Because despite what certain impeccably dressed people on Instagram would have us believe, nobody is really doing Venice with one tiny carry-on.

At least, nobody we entirely trust.

GLOSS WHITE, PLEASE

RIMOWA’s Essential line takes the house’s distinctive design language and translates it into lightweight polycarbonate. In Gloss White, the effect is especially sharp: minimalist, polished and just conspicuous enough to make baggage reclaim slightly more glamorous.

The Essential Cabin handles the things one absolutely refuses to check. The Check-In L, meanwhile, acknowledges reality.

Together, carried by Pamela Anderson in matching shades of ivory and white, they make a convincing argument for coordinated luggage — and perhaps for dressing for the journey rather than merely surviving it.

Venice may have been the destination, but the departure already deserved a photograph.
